Fees and WEFT
A run pays Solana’s fee, 5,000 lamports per signature, and the Weft run fee: a fixed number of lamports set in the program’s Config, charged on every run, inline or called. Rent for a storage account a run creates or grows comes from the signer, at the cluster’s rent when it runs. Everything is paid in SOL.
The run fee lands in one shard of the fee vault: 16 program addresses derived from ["fee", shard], the shard picked from the script's hash, so runs of different scripts never wait on one account. No key signs for them. The fee vault’s whole balance buys WEFT through Jupiter and burns it. WEFT has a fixed supply of 1,000,000,000 and a fair launch with a developer allocation: the developer’s own first buy in the launch, on the same terms as every buyer, 2.5% of the supply (25,000,000 WEFT), locked for one year. There is no presale and no investor or airdrop allocation.
